Motorola 48B803700 Antique Vintage Electronic Vibrator
Motorola 48-803700 / 48B803700 Antique Electronic Vibrator was made in 1963. Vibrators were required for battery operated high voltage power supplies, in automobile radios and transmitters that needed 50 to 250VDC or higher for vacuum tubes. Transistors replaced the need for the tube and vibrators fell out of use. Essentially the vibrator contacts provide a way to turn the 6V, 12V or 24VDC in to an AC signal that could be "Stepped Up" by use of a transformer. This particular model appears to be a 6VDC one because if you apply 6V between the center pin and metal case it "Vibrates". It has 7 pins total and unfortunately we do not have any hookup info. Size of can (excluding pins) is 1.5" dia. x 2.9" tall. New - 57 years old stock. In factory boxes.
