Fully assembled miniature geiger counter made in Russia after the Chernobyl accident. These are new (old stock) and we install two long life 625A button cell batteries into the battery compartment and test each one before shipping. These detect beta and gamma rays and emit a tone plus a light up a red LED in the presence of radioactive rays. These are very compact, size is only about 2.3" x 1.4" x 0.63" and has a built in mount for attaching to your keychain. The unit is designed to emit a low volume continuous click to assure you of its operation when the on/off switch is in the on position. A different louder tone and flash of red light is emitted as radiation is detected and these turn into continuous tones and continuous LED lighting as you get closer to the radioactive source. We have used one here to detect radioactive watch hands, lantern mantles, orange fiesta ware plates and various minerals. Detector is complete and ready to go -just turn on the switch on the back of the unit! Colors of case may vary and it comes in black, grey and white (sorry no choice of colors)
